2 yearsComplete scam alert! They claimed to have recovered £2550 plus £1550 interest from my bank for PPI compensation. When I mentioned a fake bank called "Bank of Paris," which obviously doesn’t exist, they seemed clueless. They gave me some reference and ID numbers, saying they wouldn’t ask for my bank or card details. Apparently, the money was in some kind of wallet? Then I got transferred to another caller with an Asian accent who asked for those reference details again. I purposely gave the wrong numbers to see what would happen. Definitely a dodgy operation!Bank of Paris2 yearsHeads up, these lot are just after your personal details. Proper dodgy scammers if you ask me.2 yearsWatch out for people from Asia trying to scam your bank info. Don’t trust anything these crooks say, they’re not working for any legit company no matter what name they use. If you just don’t pick up, they can’t steal from you. They’re hiding who they really are for a reason. If the number begins with +44, it’s likely fake, just made by a computer. You should also report suspicious calls to Action Fraud and text the details to 7726.Action Fraud2 yearsSomebody rang me saying they were from Amazon, trying to verify an iPhone order that I never actually placed.Amazon2 yearsHeads up, these people are just trying to trick you into giving out your personal details. They’re just con artists, don’t trust a word they say. No legit company would hide who they are like that. If you just hang up and don’t answer, they can’t steal your cash. And heads up, if the number begins with +44, it’s usually not a normal landline but some automated robocall. Make sure you report stuff like this to phishing.gov.uk or send a text with DALL to 7726 to help stop them.2 yearsgot a call from someone in india or pakistan, all sounded dodgy like some bank fraud. i just blocked the number and reported it by texting 7726. definitely a scam, watch out!IndiaPakistan2 yearsGot a call from some stranger claiming 900 quid had been taken from my bank, told me to "press one for help". Best to steer clear and not engage. If you text "CALL" to 7726, they’ll properly investigate and hopefully get that number shut down. Stay safe!3 yearsI’ve been receiving calls from individuals claiming to represent a company - it’s all very dodgy. I reckon they're just trying to swindle bank details from unsuspecting folks. Don't let them pull the wool over your eyes; no legitimate business operates this way. If we all decide to ignore these calls, these unscrupulous crooks won't stand a chance at accessing our funds. It's suspicious enough that they hide behind unknown numbers, particularly those starting with +44; you can bet they're not calling from a proper landline but rather using some automated system. Make sure to report any fraudulent attempts you encounter; you can do this at phishing.gov.uk or simply text "DALL" to 7726. Stay vigilant!3 yearsI recently received a dodgy call from an unknown number, claiming that 900 pounds had been taken from my bank account. They prompted me to 'press one for help', which sounded highly suspicious. After checking my bank statements, I realised it was all nonsense. I've now blocked the number and reported it. Just a heads-up to everyone - stay vigilant against these scammers!3 yearsAbsolutely a complete sham! They claimed to have secured £2550 in compensation from some supposed bank PPI, plus an extra £1550 in interest. When I quizzed them about which bank they were referring to, I cheekily mentioned "Bank of Paris," a non-existent entity, yet they seemed completely oblivious. They then threw a reference number and an identification number my way, all while insisting they wouldn’t request any banking or card particulars. Apparently, the funds were sitting in some sort of digital wallet? The situation took a turn when they transferred me to another chap of Asian descent, who, rather perplexingly, asked for the ID and reference numbers. I, of course, feigned confusion and provided the incorrect details. Then, he attempted to verify my phone number to confirm the “correct” numbers, which he promptly gave me - but surprise, surprise, they didn’t match the ones I’d received earlier. Eventually, he made a rather dubious claim that I wasn’t particularly savvy with technology, and offered to guide me through accessing this so-called wallet. He instructed me to put my phone on loudspeaker (surely a red flag?) and suggested I download an app called AnyDesk from the Play Store, which would allow him to remotely control my device. It dawned on me that this was all part of their underhanded plan to swipe my banking details, personal info, passwords, and who knows what else! These charlatans need to be put in their place - I urge anyone who encounters this to report them to the authorities for phishing and to the Financial Conduct Authority.Bank of ParisPlay StoreFinancial Conduct Authority3 yearsI just called back after missing a call from this number.
