Some bloke with a South Asian accent was calling, looking for a 'Jane'. Claimed he was from Citizens Advice. When I told him I wasn’t Jane, he refused to explain why he was calling and rudely told me to “stop wasting his time and hang up.” Quite off-putting, really.

Here’s one for your list. I called someone and told them they sounded like a scammer, and before I could finish, they’d already hung up on me. It was a bit of a back-and-forth with me saying I was going to hang up, and they ended up dropping the call first. They said something about a taxi company and some sort of bereavement money mixed with debts. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Some bloke rang me claiming he worked for a debt help service and could wipe out what I owed. I wanted to know more, so I asked for some info, and he told me to look up their website. I had a look, and sure enough, there was a proper site with a customer support number. When I said I’d call back later, he said that wasn’t allowed. I mentioned the phone number on the site and all he said was ‘well played’ before hanging up on me.
