Some bloke rang me saying he was from a life insurance firm. I asked him why he’d bother calling my mobile out of the blue, and he goes, “Why not? I can’t look you up on a mobile number!” I told him, “Actually, I can!” And sure enough, found him right here.

I asked her how on earth she got all that info, and she just guessed I must’ve signed up for some contest or whatever. I told her I hadn’t, then she quickly said sorry for bothering me, and the call just dropped. Bit weird, honestly.

I received a call from someone claiming to be X representing Y. When I made it clear that I wasn't interested in having a chat-primarily because they were using a mobile number, I wasn't familiar with their business, and I already have a financial advisor who handles all my policy discussions-they seemed to get quite put out. They insisted I must have heard of them. I reminded them that they had introduced their company at the beginning of the conversation, and then they asked if I had any insurance policies with X company. I reiterated that it was completely irrelevant where my insurance policies were, and I had no intention of engaging with them. Once again, they became quite defensive, wrapping up with a terse "Well, have a nice day then," before abruptly ending the call.
