It was a bank holiday too, which seemed odd. They told me they found my number through a recent job application I supposedly made, but they didn’t give me any other info. They said they worked for a company called Elwood Atfield, which is a genuine recruitment firm, but they don’t cover my field at all. Someone messaged me on a public holiday claiming to be recruiting and wanted to share a job description. Even after I told them I wasn’t interested, they kept pestering me to send it over, probably trying to get my email next. When I asked where they got my contact from, they said “a data centre” and that I’d applied for a position before. I pressed for more details - what job, which data centre, who they were, which company - but then they just stopped replying. I even tried calling back but nobody picked up.
