Seems like they're at it once more. I just got a ring from someone claiming to be HMRC, if I heard right. I didn’t stick around to hear anything else, just ended the call straight away.

Got a message yesterday that looked like it came from a dodgy email or something pretending to be legit. It was about some part-time job and told me to ring this mobile number. I'm gonna block it for sure, I never said they could use my number - especially not this backup one, which isn’t even my main phone number.

My elderly mate got a call from someone claiming to be from Sky, saying she’s owed a refund of £249 for an overpayment. When she asked for a phone number to call back, they gave her 0330331250 - which isn’t even a proper length. Plus, she doesn’t have Sky at all. Definitely sounded dodgy to me.

Got a call from a lady with a thick Asian accent who clearly struggled with English. She called me "Miss" followed by my first name, not my last name, which felt a bit off. She said she was ringing from Sky’s Refund Team and told me I was due £202 back for overpaying my Sky bills. I told her that if she was legit she’d already have my full name and address to send the refund letter through the post. Didn’t buy it, so I’ve blocked the number now!

Got a call from an Indian woman speaking really slowly, like she was in a noisy place. After a long pause, she mentioned me by name and even knew my address. WARNING! Stay well clear of this one!! Just like others have said, it was a woman with an Asian accent claiming to be from the Sky refund team. Her English was so muddled I couldn’t catch where she said she was calling from 🤨 She kept going on about £280 I was supposedly due back. She already had my details but kept pushing for my date of birth, which I wasn’t about to give out. When I refused, she got annoyed and promptly ended the call. After a quick search online, it’s clear these folks just target people who might be easy to fool. Properly heartbreaking stuff 😔
