I got a call from this number asking if I was a Sky customer. I told them I was, but added that I hardly ever watch telly. After that, they just ended the call straight away.

Got a call earlier today, the person claimed they needed to verify my postcode (which they oddly already had) then asked if I owned a Bosch or Hotpoint washing machine. When I asked which one he meant, he just said thanks and ended the call.

I got a call like this once, and stupidly I gave away my name and address. They then asked if I was satisfied with my credit card, and I said yes. A few hours later, someone claiming to be from "Nationwide" rang me up and asked me to confirm my name and address. I told them I was "Jocky McJockface," which obviously annoyed them. After they kept pressing me for my real details, I just hung up. That other comment about them recording the answers seems spot on. To be safe, I reached out to my credit card provider and put a fraud alert on my account through Experian.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent asking if I was happy with my credit card, but she never mentioned which bank or company. Then she wanted to know if I was between 25 and 80 years old. Later, I got another call claiming to be a courtesy call from Nationwide. I didn’t give out any personal info like my name or address, and the bloke just ended the call straight away. Totally seems like a scam to me. Feeling daft for nearly giving my details to that woman. What a mug!

Got a call from this number from some lady who sounded like she wasn't from around here. She wanted to know if I owned a Hotpoint washing machine. When I asked how she even got my number since I'm registered on the TPS, she just cut me off straight away.

I got a call from some Asian bloke who wanted to speak to me by name, then asked if I was satisfied with my broadband. When I said yes, he just ended the call straight away. Honestly, I’d love to ring him back and hang up on him!

I got a call from this number one time. Later, I tried ringing it back, which I don’t usually do, thinking it might be my son, but the number wasn’t in service or something. Then about an hour after, I called again and a guy answered with a funny accent and asked if I was my husband’s missus. When I asked who was on the line, he wouldn’t say, only said it was about some washing machine. Bit odd if you ask me!

I got a call from an Asian guy who started off by asking if I was (he actually used my daughter's name). When I said no, he kept going on about whether I had broadband. I asked what that got to do with him and then he just hung up on me!

Got a call from an Asian bloke who asked straight away for me by name. Then he wanted to talk about something, said he was checking if I was happy with my internet. Told him I didn’t even have internet set up, and he just hung up. This is the first time I've ever got a call on this number.

Over the weekend, I noticed my office line showed two missed calls, which made me suspicious straight away. Judging by what others have said here, it seems like these calls are probably to check if the number and name line up. Feels like some sketchy scam to me. If they ring again on the work phone, I might pick up just to see what they want, but there’s no way I’ll be answering if it’s on my personal mobile.

They called asking if I was (my name) and I said no, wrong number. Then I asked who was on the line and they replied, “if you’re not that person, it doesn’t concern you!” I didn’t bother arguing and just told them to get lost.

Got a call from an Asian guy asking for me by name. He said it was a National Insurance thing, just confirming my name, then suddenly cut off. Bit uneasy about it since I’d just been speaking to HMRC not long before!
