Got a robocall saying they’d taken £900 from my debit card and to hit 1 if I wanted to stop the payment. Clearly a scam so I just hung up straight away.

Over the past few days, I’ve got calls from a couple of different numbers. An automated voice kept claiming I’d purchased some pricey thing on Amazon. It told me to press buttons to talk to someone. After my last call, I’m noping out of these scammers for good!

I got a call from this number saying there was a weird charge of £1253 on my Amazon account. They told me to press 1 to stop the payment or press 2 to talk to someone about it. Bit dodgy if you ask me, especially since it came from a mobile number. Totally a scam.

They've been ringing me loads over the past few days, and just got another call now. It’s really annoying. When you answer and there’s silence, I treat those calls as suspicious. Feels like they’re waiting to find someone who might be easy to fool. We’re all paying for our landlines, so BT should seriously do something about this - we shouldn’t have to put up with these creepy calls just because we’re paying a bill.

I just let it ring through to my voicemail and didn't say anything. I’m curious how it knows the difference between me actually answering and just a machine picking up with a recorded message? Seems a bit confusing to me.
