I received a rather disconcerting automated call featuring a polished male voice, claiming to be from HMRC. The message alarmingly stated that my name had been flagged in a fraudulent case. It urged me to press 1 to sort it out, and ominously warned that failure to do so would lead to imminent arrest. Interestingly, they did not even know my name! It's preposterous how these scammers attempt to instill fear in unsuspecting individuals just to trick them into pressing 1. It’s clearly a con. Whatever you do, don’t engage!
