Someone rang me pretending to be from Amazon fraud team, saying my account had been hacked and trainers bought without my permission. I didn’t hang up straight away, instead I logged into my Amazon and sure enough, they’d already flagged suspicious activity. The person calling was based in Uttar Pradesh, India. I kept them talking for a bit, saying “madam, you there? Can you hear me?” before I finally ended the call after receiving an actual email from Amazon confirming my account security alert.
