Since swapping my phone for a shiny new iPhone this week, I've been inundated with calls - seven in total, all from different numbers yet each peddling the same insurance spiel. I tried to be courteous and let them know we weren't keen, but they clearly missed the memo. In the end, we just hung up! I've lodged a complaint with both Carphone Warehouse and O2, so now it’s just a waiting game for their reply.

I recently received a call from the same number. After quite a lengthy chat, lasting more than five seconds, the person on the other end finally decided to hang up. This all happened shortly after we made it clear that our address is "9 Lets Be Avenue." Strangely enough, it was the phrase "O2 was better" that seemed to be the tipping point for them.

Oh, for goodness' sake, I could really do without encountering such foolishness! It baffles me how people receive a call from an unknown mobile number and proceed to divulge their name, residence, and even card details, only to be shocked later when they find unauthorised transactions on their bank account. Honestly, individuals like this are a scammer's ideal target, so gullible they believe anything. If you’re keen on preventing this kind of nonsense from occurring in your life, do send a blank cheque to the address listed below.

We received a call from them too, it's quite bizarre really. Three missed calls in a single day! The folks on the other end seem rather elusive. Are you pleased with your new mobile, or do you find it perplexing as well? They don’t seem to have a clue about what phone you’re using! So, we were asked if it’s registered in your name, to which we nodded in agreement. What’s going on with this, I wonder? Turns out, they were offering insurance for your device. We’ve encountered the same nonsense from Vodafone; they seem to lose interest after a while. Quite the frustrating experience, if you ask me!

Fascinating, isn't it? We just received a call from this number, and considering it was clearly a nuisance call, we decided to hang up straight away. I do wish we'd stayed on the line a bit longer to gather some information, especially since we didn’t recognise the number beforehand.

I recently received a call from the same number. After keeping the caller hanging for more than a cheeky five seconds, she finally ended the call. Interestingly, this all happened soon after we shared our address: "999 Lets Be Avenue". Just for fun, we also added this little nugget, "O2 was better" as a password, which seemed to do the trick in the end.

After kindly letting them know we weren't in the market for that sort of thing, they continued to persist. So, we opted to simply end the call. I've lodged a complaint with both Carphone Warehouse and O2, and now we’re just waiting to hear back from them.
