This morning my landline got a call from 07853 649923. Some automated voice with an American accent told me I'd just renewed my Amazon Prime for £73 and said to press 1 if I hadn’t authorised it. I suppose it’s a bit different from the usual calls from the Indian scammers claiming I’ve won some lottery, or trying to sell me full home insurance, or promising tax and insurance refunds. Then there's the fake bank alerts about money being taken from my account - all the usual nonsense!
