They called saying they were from O2 and thanked me for my recent order. Then told me the payment didnt go through and i needed to sort out the payment info again.

Got this text out of the blue saying, "HSBC UK: A new payee called Mr P SHERMAN has been set up on your online banking. If this isn’t you, check here: new-payee-confirm[###]." Never added anyone by that name, so it’s either a dodgy scam or someone’s messing about with my account. Very suspicious!

I kept getting calls from this number, tried ringing it back and only got their voicemail. When I finally answered, they said they were from the national crime agency but were calling from a mobile! I just hung up and never bothered to ring back.

I got a call from someone saying they were with the "federation of regional crime enforcement" or FORCE. Their story was that the police wanted them to put together a leaflet listing dodgy businesses alongside trusted ones. They asked if I fancied being listed as a trusted photographer. I knew it was dodgy straight away so I just played along for a bit and asked for their full company name to check. Definitely a scam aimed at businesses.

Got a call from some bloke with a proper Liverpool voice, trying to get me to pay up for an advert in a magazine that doesn’t even exist. A while ago, I lost £150 to these fraudsters pretending to be from some emergency services mag - police, fire, ambulance or something like that. The guy behind this scam’s actually been in the Daily Mirror, that just shows how dodgy they are. It’s really unfair because they make honest Scousers look bad. Total muppets!

This number rang me up and seemed to already know about a difficult client my business has. They were trying to sell me an advert in their magazine for £200 yearly, saying it came with perks like a logo claiming I’m legally protected or something similar. I didn’t go ahead though, told the bloke to email me the details so I could review everything first. There was a good amount of stalling and lots of vague assurances.

One chap had the audacity to say, ‘We’re collaborating with local police to collect funds... targeting a handful of local businesses... either through a magazine or a website to increase awareness about scams aimed at the elderly and those at risk.’ Don’t be duped, folks!
