Got a call on my phone earlier today, they even used my name and said they were from Citizens Advice trying to sort out my debts. Told them straight up I don’t owe anything, then I rang Citizens Advice myself to check it out and passed on the number to them. They confirmed it was dodgy and have reported it now. Anyone know how to block these muppets? Properly giving us a bad rep.

Got a ring from someone named Charlie claiming to be from Citizens Advice - no surprise there! Spoke with a strong Indian accent guy who said I might qualify for a debt relief plan. Got a call earlier on 8/7/16, someone said they were from citizens advice bureau, telling me about some government plan that wipes out like 60% of debts if you owe over 2%. Their accent was really thick and they sounded like they were reading from a script the whole time. As soon as I told them it didn’t apply to me, I just ended the call. Watch out for these dodgy scams!

Total con. Proper rude and out of line. Said it was about some debt thing, then started bossing me about and told me to hang up. I refused and then the bloke began whistling and humming before calling me an ugly cow. What a way to finish a stressful day, honestly terrible and just wrong.

I got a call from some bloke called Daniel Smith about managing my debts but his accent was so thick I could barely catch what he was saying. He kept saying I owed unsecured debt, and I kept asking him to repeat himself. He mentioned stuff about overdrafts, credit cards and loans being unsecured. After I said “sorry?” again, there was this long silence, then when I said hello, he just cut the call. Pretty weird experience.

Some bloke claiming to be from "Citizens Advice" was proper cheeky, accusing me of breaking the law. I pretended to go along with it and threw a few jokes back at him. After a bit, he ended up calling me an idiot and told me to shove my phone somewhere unpleasant. Then he just slammed the phone down on me! Fair play to me, I guess!

You can actually sign up for TPS on your mobile by visiting their site, but don’t expect it to be a miracle fix since all the standard exceptions still stand.

Some git rang me claiming to be from Citizen Advice, weirdly just an hour after I’d reported an issue to trading standards. She was going on about unpaid credit card debts and all that rubbish. I told her I’ve never even had a credit card, so obviously she had the wrong bloke. She just shrugged it off with an “oh right”.
