6 yearsNo way this is some sort of risky call, honestly. We're just a tiny sales outfit representing a group of solicitors. There's absolutely no reason for us to try and scam anyone, seriously.8 yearsGot a call from some bloke called Sean from the claims dept, asking if I’m happy with the hire car and claiming I could get compensation for injuries. This is the third time he’s rang me, twice within just 20 minutes! I told him I’m not hurt and I’m not about to fake a claim. He said it’s linked to Direct Line and Thrifty, which is worrying. I’m definitely going to raise a complaint with both firms, seems like they’re totally ignoring GDPR rules.SeanDirect LineThrifty8 yearsThis number called me as well, supposedly from Thrifty Car Rental and Direct Line. I reported it to both companies but all I got was some standard reply about how they protect your data, basically brushing it off. It feels like they’re just ignoring the issue. I’m reaching out to the ICO because I’m pretty sure this is a breach of GDPR regulations.Thrifty Car RentalICO8 yearsHe said he was from the "legal expenses team," but tbh, the strong Mancunian/Scouse accent made me suspicious right away. He mentioned something about a hire car after an accident that wasn’t my fault, which is how he must have got my number from some database. When I asked if he was tied to the insurance company or the car hire place, he admitted he wasn’t. Then he launched into the usual pitch about compensation I supposedly deserved. I wasn’t having any of it, so I just cut the call. Definitely felt like a scammer to me.8 yearsSean phoned me several times today. When I called back, he said who he was and mentioned my hire car, saying there’d been an accident. He claimed I could get between £2000 and £4000 due to a faulty seatbelt issue. Then he asked for my address, email and date of birth, but I didn’t give anything away. I asked him about the seatbelt problem, and he said it was because the belt was under strain during the crash. I told him no one was in the car when it happened. After that, he quickly apologised and ended the call. Definitely a scam, no doubt about it.Sean8 yearsBloody hell, these idiots!8 yearsBloody hell, those lot are proper annoying!8 yearsi’ve been getting calls non stop from this same firm, but they keep switching the phone numbers they use. today they rang from this one. it’s clearly a scam. the company is called veratas advisors. the bloke was asking for my address, saying they wanted to send me a £400 cheque for a car crash claim. terrible behaviour, really. they’re pretty pushy and keep ringing my phone all the time, it’s proper harassment. not sure how they’re still allowed to do this.Veritas Advisors8 yearsabout four hours back, i got a call from a bloke named ‘Sean’ who claimed to work for some claims outfit. he said he had info about a thrifty rental car linked to direct line for a claim i supposedly made. then he mentioned he could send over £2000 as part of some dodgy minor injury payout. this guy’s rung me up twice in the last 20 minutes already.SeanDirect Line8 yearsI got a call from someone saying they worked for a claims company, but at first, they tried to fool me by acting like they were from my own insurance. They mentioned some information about a Thrifty rental car linked to a claim handled by Direct Line.Direct LineSubmit Your Own Report (07851 502027)
