I was actually looking to upgrade my phone around that time, so I decided to verify with Samsung UK and Malaysia directly. Turns out, it was a total scam (04/08/2018). Stay cautious, folks!

This looks like the usual scam, but the amount they mentioned was £483,000. Got an email from [email protected] about it.

Got the identical message today. I looked up Samsung Malaysia on their official site and saw they put out a scam warning about this number last June. They suggest telling your mates and family to avoid the number and just block it. From now on, if you get a message from any company, it’s best to check their official website to verify the number first.

Just got a message saying I’ve won £492,000 from Samsung UK/Malaysia promo! They want me to confirm my prize by emailing them my Unique ID HK92801 along with my name, address and phone number. Seems a bit dodgy but thought I’d share in case anyone else got the same. The email looks a bit suspect too, like it's tried to hide the actual address. Be careful out there!
