Had a call this morning around 9.29 from a bloke asking if he could speak to the business owner. I'm struggling with laryngitis right now, so was whispering a bit. When I pressed him for details, he said his name was Richard Sheppard and he was raising funds for kids with cancer. I knew straight away it was a scam since legit charities don't cold call like that. Then he just hung up on me.

Got a call from a polite-sounding guy, sounded middle aged, asking for the business owner. He was trying to pimp some ads in a magazine meant to raise £250k for kids with cancer. Honestly, I felt it was dodgy right away. Told him I wasn’t interested and gave him my reasons, then he just cut me off sharpish! The number actually flagged up as possible fraud on my phone, so I looked it up and found loads of warnings that backed up my gut feeling. Best keep away and definitely don’t hand over any info or cash.
