Just to clear things up, I am the one who answered the call before and I promise this number isn’t connected to the National Crime Agency, I don’t work for them at all. I ended the call because it felt like a scam to me, and it wasn’t until today that I found out my number was being used or spoofed. So yeah, please don’t trust any calls coming from this number.

I've received a rather dodgy call from a blokes with a strong English accent, claiming that my National Insurance number has been compromised. The recorded message urged me to ‘Press 1’ to discuss the matter further. Curiosity got the better of me, so I called the number back. However, a woman with a southern English accent picked up and, when I mentioned the possibility of it being a scam, she abruptly cut me off. Feels like this could very well be part of a larger con, so I'm flagging it as potentially harmful.

Got a call from this number claiming to be the National Crime Agency, with a recorded message from a bloke speaking in a very stern English accent. It said my National Insurance number might have been breached and that I should press one. I wasn’t sure if the call was spoofed or not, so I rang the number back. A woman with a southern English accent answered, and when I told her I was reporting it as a scam, she just hung up on me. So I can’t really tell if she’s in on the scam or if it’s actually her line. Either way, I’d say this number is dodgy and risky to deal with.
