I keep getting missed calls from this number and when I pick up 07788 577399, it just goes silent. When I ring it back, I get told it’s the wrong number! Today I actually got through to a guy with an accent who asked for me but kept saying my name wrong. When I asked who it was, he just went quiet and said bye! Seriously, what’s going on?!

Kevin, some guy from abroad who’s rung me a few times claiming to sort out my debts, had some of my details. Ringed again last night, said bailiffs would be coming soon and they’re not to be messed with. Told him he was talking rubbish and slammed the phone down. Bet this would scare a lot of folk though.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Citizens Advice trying to sort out a debt I don’t even have. They already knew my name and work number, which is a bit creepy. I told them Citizens Advice wouldn't ring about stuff like this, then this guy with an odd accent just ended the call. Number was 07850 435058 but I’m sure they’ll try other ones too. Seen the comments here - wish there was a way to actually track these scammers down!

They rang me up like 4 times today tryin to con me outta cash. Lucky for them, I’m with the cops and played along. Eventually I told em who I was and they just told me to jog on and hung up.

Can’t believe this number rang me today about someone I’ve never heard of. I told the bloke he’d got the wrong number, but he basically called me a liar. Then he started saying he had all my info and that I’d changed my name. I told him a few times he was mistaken. After that, he began reading out this poor girl’s details. When I told him he was breaching data protection, he got proper rude, insisting I’d changed my name. No clue who this girl or the company is, but seriously, this has to end!

Got a call from someone claiming I owe money and it could be cleared up because of some government law! Played along for a bit and then they just hung up! Proper thick Pakistani accent, sounded like they were munching on something! Definitely blocked them! Already got 4 calls, one was even at 1 in the morning!

I honestly believed this was some legit government program - feeling proper daft now after seeing these replies - they even had my name, address and supposedly my banking info. My phone cut out in the middle of the call and it was only then my daughter decided to look it up online. So glad we did, even my financial advisor said he hadn't come across the scheme and told me to steer clear. They’ve rung me back three times since but I’m just blocking them now.

The first time he called, he said he was from a service that could reduce debts by about 60%, something like that. Then he kept ringing repeatedly. Last time, I told him flat out I wasn’t interested and asked him to stop phoning me because I recognised his voice. That’s when he turned nasty, threatening that bailiffs would be coming to seize my stuff to clear debts. I asked which debts, and he named ones I’d already paid off, so I realised it was a con. Pretty frightening, honestly.

Got a call from this number earlier today around 12:45pm. The bloke said he was from some government debt office and claimed I owed thousands of pounds, threatening I was in serious trouble.
