I received a message that claimed to be from HSBC regarding a new payee linked to my account. However, since I don't actually bank with them, it was clear to me that it was a fraudulent attempt.

Got a dodgy text that read something like this: "HSBC: A payee request has been made for Mr C Jones to your account via HSBC mobile banking. If this wasn't you, please check out security.hsbcuk.new-payee[###]." Definitely seems fishy!

Received a dodgy message claiming to be from HSBC. It was sent from some number linked to 'smscaster[###]' asking me to make a payment to a certain Mrs K Adams through my HSBC mobile app. Definitely wasn’t me! If this sort of thing happens to you, best get in touch with HSBC’s security team. Mind you, I don’t even have an account with HSBC!

I received a message from +44 7848 187420 claiming there’s been a new payee set up for someone named Mr. C Jones linked to my HSBC mobile banking. I reckon it’s a scam! Beware, everyone!
