Definitely a scam. They claimed to be from the Barclaycard Fraud team and said there was a charge of £500 on my account, telling me to press 1 if it wasn’t mine. I didn’t press anything though - I rang up the actual Fraud department myself, and they told me no such transaction had taken place. Seems like these scammers are now using bank names to scare people who might actually have accounts or cards with them. Best advice: don’t press any numbers they ask you to. Just hang up, wait a bit, then call a trusted number from your card or bank statement to check what's going on.
