BEWARE! This is a TOTAL SCAM. Loads of people have been tricked out of a lot of cash recently, especially in September. These scams are happening more and more, so under NO CIRCUMSTANCES give out any personal or bank info. If you get suspicious calls, messages or letters, report them straight to Action Fraud and make a post on your social media to warn others. Sharing info seems to really help stop these con artists. Got a call from some automated voice claiming my account had been hacked with two payments around £700 and £900. It told me to hit 1 to stop the payments, which I did without thinking. Then the call just ended abruptly. Now I'm left wondering what the scammer was after and if pressing 1 gave them any kind of access. I don’t actually have any agreements with 3, which is the company this number is linked to.
