Got a message claiming to be from Royal Mail saying I had a parcel about to arrive. Was this close to getting caught out if I hadn’t already got a proper email from Royal Mail this morning. These scammers are proper annoying, honestly.

This definitely isn’t a Royal Mail number, and I wasn’t waiting for any delivery. The link in the message is shortened but directs you to ogceshp.cn, which has nothing to do with Royal Mail. From what I found, the domain was registered quite recently on 21st April 2023 with a Chinese registrant named 马道平. It’s registered through Alibaba Cloud and has DNS servers based in China. The domain isn’t secured with DNSSEC and it will expire next year in April. Stay safe and don’t click on suspicious links!
