Definitely a scam, I’ve got no kids at all.

Got a text saying, “Dad, remember this new number.” I played along, asking if it was my son or daughter by throwing out random names. They said it was my daughter, then suddenly wanted me to cover a £1635 bill because their new phone wasn't set up with their bank yet. I gave them a firm no and blocked the number sharpish. My real daughter reckon I earned a whisky for handling it well!
