I answered with a quick hello after they rang, but they just cut off on me. Probably figured I wasn't the type to fall for a con or something.

Got a call from a number and the person just said hello once I answered. I replied back but then they just ended the call. Guessing they thought I wasn’t an easy target for a scam because I’m not some elderly person!

Got a call from some stranger warning me my national insurance details had been compromised. Told them not to call again and definitely putting them on my block list.

some bloke rang me saying he was from some energy advisory thing. he went on about a new law or something about old boilers. he claimed he knew mine was old and kept asking me the exact age of it. i asked why he even cared. next thing, he called me a bloody idiot and hung up on me.

Got a call from some energy saving firm bloke asking if we wanted an air source heat pump to cut our fuel costs. He seemed pretty clued up about the various green energy options and wasn’t pushy at all, so I doubt it was a scam. Though honestly, he really shouldn't have rung us as we're on the do-not-call list.

Some bloke claimed he was an energy advisor for our local area and wanted to talk about my boiler because he reckoned it was pretty old. When I told him I wasn’t interested, he got a bit narked and just hung up on me.

Somebody rang me and wanted to speak to the owner of the property. When I asked what the call concerned, they just said they could only chat with the owner. I told them they’d have to say what it was about first or I wouldn’t put the call through (which is me, by the way). They hung up pretty quick after that. Since it was a random mobile number and they didn’t know our names, I reckon it was a dodgy call!

Got a call again but it all happened too fast, he kept asking loads about my home. Started going on about some government grants. Said he'll call me later after checking with his manager. Nope, I haven’t blocked the number yet.

Got a call from some bloke who kept going on all chipper with ‘hope you’re having a good morning’ stuff - no idea what he was on about at all. I just said goodbye nicely and hung up. Thinking I’ll just block the number now since it’s obviously a mobile, so probably not from any proper company.

Got a call from Tyrone, said he was with some energy saving firm in Essex talking about “government green energy incentives”. Told him straight we’re on the TPS and nicely asked to have our number taken off their list. I’ve also gone ahead and blocked the number now.
