Got a call claiming it was the tax department chasing me for some unpaid taxes and was told to press 1 to talk to an advisor. I pressed 1 and a bloke called Kevin said he was from Inland Revenue. I asked for some ID to prove who he was, but he just went quiet. Then I asked straight up, who exactly am I talking to? Suddenly, he just hung up on me.

kept ringing me over and over like they know who i am but i have no clue who they are

Got a call today from someone acting like they knew my mate, but it was just a ploy to fish out private info. If you happen to get a similar call, best to hang up or give them rubbish details to keep yourself safe.
