Got a recorded message saying it was HMRC about some tax avoidance issue. As far as I know, I don’t owe any tax at all. I just said hello when I picked up. They seemed to be accusing me of dodging tax, which honestly freaked me out. Then they just hung up. I tried ringing back but no luck. I checked on gov.uk and found out that HMRC wouldn’t randomly call like that accusing people of tax evasion or threatening fines. Definitely a scam, just like I thought. I’m going to report this number now for sure!
