Somebody called saying they were from Lloyds, telling me there was a payment being made to Ebay in Scotland. I ended the call straight away, then rang Lloyds myself. It turned out the call wasn’t from them at all, but someone had tried to charge my card for Ebay! If you get a call like this, please just hang up and get in touch with your bank to block your card!

Someone called me pretending to be from Barclays saying there was a payment sent to eBay Scotland, trying to scare me that they'd report it to the Met Police. I told them that the transaction didn’t happen here and I’m not even in London, so why would the Met Police be involved? They seemed a bit confused after that.
