Definitely seemed like a scam. I kept her on the line for about 10 minutes just to see what she'd say.

She told me my IP address had changed from private to public and warned if I didn't help fix it, the internet would be cut off, which apparently could harm my router and gadgets (not sure about that!). When I asked for a number to call BT myself to check, she refused, saying she didn’t need to prove anything to me. She kept using phrases like “it could already be too late” and “you might never hear from me again!” I kept her on the line for about ten minutes just to waste her time. Definitely a scam.
