I went through the same thing, thought it was legit at first but soon realised something was off. The calls showed as private numbers. They ended up scamming me out of £3000. Honestly, I was naive to trust them. Just a heads up to others - watch out when dealing with stuff like this. I got caught up in it and it was a costly mistake.

Got a call saying Amazon was about to charge me £79.99 for Amazon Prime and if I wanted to sort it out I had to press "1". I did and the person told me to type windows + R and then go to wwwamazonprime.webs[###] to get a refund. Of course, I didn’t follow any of it. When he asked what showed up on my screen I said I only got the blue screen of death and then suddenly my PC just stopped working. The bloke sounded like he had a strong Asian accent and his English was rubbish, plus there was loads of noise in the background. Then he just hung up on me.
