Got two calls on my phone - I called back the first one thinking it was someone from work. When I picked up, it was some community project. Today, when I answered, no one said anything then suddenly a scary voice said goodbye. Seems like these are joke calls, which could be risky based on what others have said - best to just block the number.

Really strange call. The person sounded like a salesman trying to pitch me something and kept asking how I was. I wondered if they were a customer (I run a site) and asked, and they said yes, would get their order number and were excited to try some. Then they just hung up. Not sure what the point was, especially after reading other comments saying it's a scam to push ads on you!! Honestly felt a bit uneasy about it.

Got a call today on my work phone from someone saying they were doing a campaign in my area. They asked if I was "aware of crime". When I said I didn’t really understand what they meant, they just kept repeating the question. Then after I said no, they told me to "never mind" and ended the call. I’ve no clue what their purpose was, but since I’ve blocked the number now, I doubt I’ll ever get to know.

Got a call asking if this was xxxx (my place). Figured it was a client, but then he said he was from some crime prevention mag, kept saying hello over and over, then just hung up. Had an Irish lilt. Blocked the number and reported it now.

Got a call from something like 'Crime prevention magazine', so I looked the number up and loads of people said it was a scam. Told the bloke I'd ring back and he was alright with it, said the lines are always tied up so I probably won't get through.
