Got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC, telling me to press 1 or face arrest over my NI number being misused. Thing is, I’d actually spoken to the real HMRC just the day before. When I hung up, another call came through from 0141 781 2221, again claiming to be HMRC, then a third from 07840 790133. Seems like this scam is going around.
