I got a call from a robotic voice claiming to be BT, saying my account was about to be cancelled. The automated message went something like, "To stop this happening..." but I ended the call straight away. I double-checked my last bill and it’s all paid, plus the next one isn’t due until April. The caller was definitely on a mobile, and I reckon they were trying to scam me into handing over payment details. Even though I’m ex-directory, I still have to give my number for online orders a lot, so I guess that’s how scammers keep getting hold of it.
