Beware of these fraudsters! I recently received a robotic message from this number claiming to be Amazon. It stated that there had been some dodgy activity linked to my Amazon account, urging me to connect with their fraud department by pressing 1. However, when I checked my Amazon account, everything seemed perfectly normal. Clearly, this is a ruse!

This number has been ringing me a bunch over the past few days with some kind of robotic voice speaking what sounded like either Japanese or Chinese. I’m just going to block it now.

Got a robo call about some dodgy £699 Amazon gift card purchase on my account. They said it was odd because apparently I’ve never bought gift cards before. Was told to press 1 to cancel or 2 to approve. Didn’t even say which card it was about. I just cut the call. Banks don’t ring you like that, definitely a scam.

Got a call out of the blue from some gadget insurance lot, definitely a scam.

So this guy with an Indian accent rang me, saying I have some kind of “human right” to get compensation for an accident I never even had. I told him to go away and ended the call, but he just rang straight back again. Then, two days later, he called once more, pretending to be returning my call! Proper irritating bloke who just can’t take no for an answer.

Got a call from 07840 302950 at 10:47 today, luckily blocked by TPS. Looks like it’s an O2 number - they really should be better about stopping this kind of harassment. I usually reply with a text asking if they want to leave a voicemail or send a message, but obviously no reply ever comes. Seems like they’re well aware of what’s going on. I’ve just got some letters from a woman wanting to meet people, maybe these two could be matched up? Would share the number but honestly, I’d probably end up explaining things to the police. Funny how the laws don’t seem to do much sometimes.

Really unsafe stuff going on here. Someone called me pretending to be from Paypal, saying I hadn’t completed a payment, which was totally not true - I checked my Paypal account straight away. I’d say block this number on your phones ASAP. I reckon the same scammers might be using 07707542217 too, as the way they speak is exactly the same. Watch out everyone, it’s a proper scam!

Got a call from someone claiming I’d agreed to sponsor something related to local health and safety. I told him I hadn’t spoke to anyone about it, but he got really annoyed and said I must have talked to his coworker. I haven’t had any call like that though, so I just ended up hanging up.
