Today I got a text from 07838201458 claiming to be Amazon Customer Services, saying I was due a refund for a faulty item I’d bought. They even had the last four digits of my card, which freaked me out a bit. Then, when they asked for the full card number and the security code on the back, I just turned off my phone, switched it back on, and quickly changed my Amazon password. Afterwards I rang Amazon themselves and they told me they hadn’t sent any text and my account was secure. I ended up blocking and deleting the number straight away.
