I got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC saying I owed back taxes and that if I didn’t pay up, the police would come to my house with a court order in half an hour. They told me to press 1 to talk. I figured it was a scam but pressed 1 anyway, just to see what would happen. A guy with an Asian accent answered and said “Hello, HMRC.” When I asked if he really was from HMRC, he just cut the call.
