Got a text from this number pretending to be my kid. They said they’d “broken their phone” and were using a mate’s phone (the one that messaged me) which was about to run out of battery. Then they asked me to WhatsApp a different number (07585076952). It sounded dodgy straight away - my child doesn’t even have a UK phone, plus if she did, she wouldn’t know my number off by heart. Also, why ask for WhatsApp instead of just texting? Feels like a scam to me, though I can’t say 100% for sure.
