I experienced something quite similar and decided to block the number. The Track and Trace messaging service is now defunct. In its heyday, any messages from them would start with 0300, typically followed by a phone call. Definitely a scam, without a shadow of a doubt! x

I received a message stating that I’d been in close association with someone who was self-isolating, along with a link to order a PCR test kit that didn’t appear to be from the NHS. I’ve had similar communications before, and they always originate from an official NHS number. Given that the guidelines no longer require ordering PCR tests for close contacts, I find this quite dubious. Definitely had to report and block it!

I received a rather odd text informing me that I'd recently been in close proximity to someone who was in isolation, along with a request to order a testing kit. It included a link, but I didn't feel comfortable clicking on it since I didn't recognise the source. Having been genuinely contacted by Test & Trace in the past, this message appeared rather suspect and didn’t match their usual format at all. I can't shake the feeling it might be a scam of some kind.
