I'd be careful with any debt collector who pushes way too hard for instant payment, especially if they try to freak you out. Like if they start saying they'll sue you if you don't pay straightaway, that could be a scam trying to bully you.

Got a call from someone in India saying they were from a government debt collector, total rubbish. Just blocked the number straight away.
