Some bloke with a funny accent called me, claiming to be from BT, said there was an issue with my internet connection. He said they’d sent me texts, but I never replied. Then he asked me to switch on my computer so he could have a look. When I got suspicious and said I thought it was a scam, he started threatening to shut down my BT account if I didn’t follow his instructions. I just hung up. Since I still have an active BT account, I reckon he was trying to scam me, but his threat felt pretty harsh.
