I got in touch regarding an ad on Gumtree, only to discover it was a dodgy profile. Each time I messaged on WhatsApp, the name changed, which seemed rather suspect. To top it off, the profile linked to something claiming to be Betty’s Tea Rooms in York. Yet, when I tried to access it, my browser warned me it was unsafe and flagged it as a phishing attempt. I've reported this to Gumtree and promptly blocked the account. What a right palaver!

I got in touch about a listing on Gumtree and they requested my address, claiming they could send payment straight into my bank account. Absolutely not!
