Someone rang me claiming they worked for a government-backed charity that could clear up to £7,000 off my credit card and loan debts. When I asked for the charity’s name, the creditors they mentioned, and her own name, the lady just put the phone down. I’m also going to report this to the TPA.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Citizens Advice Bureau, asking about any debts or loans I might have. When I asked for their name, they just ended the call straight away.

Got a call claiming to be from the Citizens Advice Bureau saying a government program could clear 60% of my debts. I went over my debts with them, which needed to be at least £5000, and after telling them I’m unemployed with barely any income, they said I didn’t qualify for this so-called ‘IBA’ or something like that. Sounds completely made up to me! Definitely a SCAM and nothing to do with the actual Citizens Advice Bureau.

some bloke said he was from the credit investigation team and claimed the fca told them i owe money on loans, credit cards and catalogues. I told him ive never had a credit card or taken a loan, so i'll be contacting the fca since they’ve shared my info without my consent and given wrong details. then he just hung up on me. total muppets pretending to be from the fca to sound legit. don’t get tricked by these con artists!
