In my case, it was actually a legit message from the HALIFAX FRAUD team double checking a purchase I made online. I rang Halifax’s main line and read out the message, which included info like the transaction time, amount and seller, and they said yep, it was really from them. The weird part was the text only came through over 45 minutes after I made the purchase - I reckon that was some wi-fi delay or something.
