Just as I set my phone down after answering what seemed like a genuine NHS call (though it showed up as 'private' of course), I got another ring immediately. Got me thinking, could scammers be fiddling with NHS phone numbers? The call was a robotic voice claiming to be from Barclaycard, warning about two fraudulent charges with different sums that I supposedly approved. They told me to press 1 if I wanted to cancel these. I ignored it and hung up straight away.
