I got a couple of calls from a woman using a private number, claiming to be from my bank but never actually saying which one. Then today, I got an email from her as well. The email was from a Rebekah Poliszczuk, who says she’s a Personal Mortgage and Protection Adviser at Halifax Mortgages, with the number 07826513711. Thing is, I don’t have any mortgages or financial products with Halifax. It sounds quite legit on the surface but those calls just felt very dodgy to me, like it could be a scam.

In just a few days, I got a second call from the same woman. She spoke with a fast English accent, quickly told me her name and a phone number, then asked me to ring her back. She said she was ringing from my local bank branch, though she never mentioned which one. Apparently, she’s from the mortgage department. Thing is, I don’t have a mortgage at all. Seems like a scam to me. The calls always come from a private number, so I can’t block them.

Got a voicemail from a woman with a British accent claiming to be from my bank’s local office. She said it was a friendly check-in because of the tough money times and left a callback number. But she never said the bank’s name and even messed up my name a bit. I don’t have any loans or anything, so I’m pretty sure it’s some sort of scam. Haven’t bothered calling back of course.
