Got a call from some people trying to sell resin driveways. They were real persistent on the phone, so much so that I ended up blocking their number. They kept saying that me and my missus had to be there together for a face-to-face pitch before they’d move forward, which felt way too forceful and not needed at all.

Got a call from some lads named Ian and Billy claiming to be from Bespoke Solutions, pushing solar panels. They reckoned I’d reached out to them ages ago and now there was some new deal backed by energy firms to make solar panels more suitable for older folks. They really pushed me to agree to a visit within 24 hours and insisted both me and the other person had to be there, saying that’s what the FCA wants. Thing is, they clearly didn’t know their stuff - never once mentioned credit or finance, which the FCA actually oversees. Best to steer well clear of these chaps and don’t let them in. I’ve blocked the number now.

So, I got a call from some company offering garden, landscaping and driveway work. They found me through sites like 'rated people' and 'my builder' and just rang me up. Thing is, I never asked to be contacted or agreed to them approaching me like that. Bit off, really.
