Absolute scam alert! They pretend to be Amazon, saying someone tried buying stuff worth nearly £1000 from your account and want you to ring them up to 'verify' it. Always check your Amazon orders and bank or credit card statements closely. Make sure you’ve got notifications set up on your phone for banking activity too. And for goodness sake, don’t talk to these people! Most importantly, make a report to stop it happening to others!

Got a voicemail from someone pretending to be HMRC, threatening legal action if I didn’t settle my tax via an automated payment system. Sounds dodgy to me!

It wasn’t Amazon calling me, but something about my credit card and an online transaction... then they told me to press 1.

I got a call from this number but I just ignored it. I never pick up if it’s someone unfamiliar. That’s my approach really - if it’s important, they can just leave a voicemail.

Got a robo call saying I just got charged £399.99 on my Amazon account for an iPhone 7. They told me to press 1 if I didn’t make the purchase, but I did not, so obviously didn’t press anything. Funny how these scams work!
