Got a call from a man with an Asian accent who asked straight away for me by name. Said he was calling from Hotpoint. Seemed harmless so I played along. He checked my address as a sort of confirmation. Then he wanted to know if I still had a Hotpoint appliance and if it was less than 10 years old. Told him it’s actually 13 years old. He just said “Excellent. Thanks very much” and then ended the call. Didn’t get to ask what it was all about!

Then he asked if I actually had life insurance with Aviva. Told him if he was really from Aviva, he should already know that info, and ended the call straight away. Definitely a phishing scam.

Got loads of calls from this weird number, finally picked up once. Some lady with an Asian accent was asking for someone I’d never heard of. When I told her I wasn’t that person, she asked if I could pass her on. I said nope, I had no idea who she was talking about and that name wasn’t linked to the number she called from anyway. So yeah, I’ve just blocked the number now.

It was a bloke with an Indian accent for sure. He wanted to know if my washing machine was Hotpoint or Bosch. I wasn’t sure which one it was, so I told him that. Then he asked how old I was. I was like, “Why do you wanna know my age just to talk about my washing machine?” Next thing I knew, he just cut me off! Such a frustrating call. Stay clear of them!
