Some bloke with a thick Indian accent said he was ringing from a debt management firm in Manchester. I told him I reckoned it was a scam, but he insisted it wasn’t since he hadn’t asked for any info. He got quite annoyed and told me to just hang up. Ended up blocking the number. Bit of a laugh, but definitely a scam in my book.

Some bloke rang me and there was someone humming softly in the backround. Seemed a bit dodgy to me. When I told him to take me off their call list, he snapped back, all rude like, saying "why would I do that?!"

BE CAREFUL. This bloke from India called asking about the name of my LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY, saying it was for some survey for CITIZENS ADVICE. TOTAL LIE! I actually work for Citizens Advice and they NEVER call people asking for info. People always get in touch with us first, either by phone or online. So don’t give out any personal details to anyone who rings saying they’re from a company or service. It’s dodgy.

At first, they claimed I owed money I had to pay, but I told them I didn’t have any debts, knowing it was dodgy. Then they tried pushing insurance on me. When I asked them to take my details off their list, they just ended the call. A couple of hours later, a different number called twice and then cut off. Looks like they’re just wasting time today. The other number was 07399665010!

Some bloke from India rang me claiming he was from Citizens Advice, saying I owed some money that had to be paid right away. I told him I wasn’t sure how that could be, as I’ve never borrowed money or got any credit cards, then he just hung up on me. Definitely a scam! Watch out, folks.

Got a call from some Indian guy claiming he was with Greenwich Investigation Services about a debt. When I asked what debt, he said I owed about £2000 for credit cards and council tax. Told him that can't be right since I've never owned a credit card and I’m a student so haven’t paid council tax. He just hung up on me after that.

A bloke with a weird foreign accent rang up saying he was from some financial company about me owing money on a credit card. I asked which card, and he said Vanquish. I told him I don’t own any credit cards. He went quiet and then said he'd just update his info. I said he must be scamming me or someone’s nicked my identity. Then he tried switching to asking about life insurance, I said I’m alright, cheers. He asked which firm, I told him that’s none of his business. Then he just hung up.

Someone called pretending to be from Citizens Advice saying they wanted to help with my ‘debt’. They said they got my number from the National Debt Advisory. I looked it up on the Citizens Advice site and saw a warning about these kinds of calls. Citizens Advice never make cold calls!

Got calls from these numbers this week, 11th to 15th Jan 2021: 018253511936, 01413195145, 08456021111, 07813556691, 616862463140, 963973566978, 67800536198. They all claimed to be from government departments, Virgin TV, home insurance and more. These people should honestly be stopped. I thought phone numbers and stuff were meant to be protected under data protection rules if they’re no longer in a directory? Apparently not!

Got a call from some guy, sounded like he was from India. Said he’s with Citizens Advice. I asked which branch and he said Manchester. Told him I’ve worked for CAB in London before, so why call from Manchester? He just hung up. Seems a bit fishy, but I like to stick around and chat so I can catch them out on their nonsense.

Spoke with someone with an Indian accent, really tough to get what they were saying. The number looked like a mobile, but there was a pause once I picked up, so obviously some call centre auto dialler. They claimed they could assist with my debts, which I don’t have. I played along at first. They asked if I had an IVA or was on any debt plan, I said maybe. Then they said I could combine all my debts with them for a fee, promising no extra charges or interest later. I told them no cheers and ended the call. Definitely felt like a scam.

Got a call supposedly from the Citizens Advice Bureau Support Line, but when I asked where they were based, they couldn't give a straight answer. They kept going on about some government aid for debts using a weird script. I asked if his family knew about his job, and he said he was an accountant, but then his voice suddenly switched like someone more important took over. Then they told me to stop talking nonsense and just hung up. Proper confusing and dodgy!

This definitely felt like some kind of scam, they kept pushing to get me to say YES. They used my first name and asked if I owed money, then when I said no, they kept trying to get me to admit otherwise. It was pretty clear they were fishing for a yes answer. Honestly, these scams are so annoying and dangerous, they should be banned and the people behind them punished properly! Don’t get caught out by these idiots.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the 'Credit Control department'. When I asked them which bank they were with, they said they're linked with Citizens Advice! They kept pressing me about any unsecured loans and insisted on speaking to me by name. I just ended the call.
