Got a call from a guy with an Irish accent, sounded about 30-ish. He said he needed to verify a payment from another place, asked me to pull up my banking app and check for a payment to Argos. When I said no to confirming it, he got really annoyed. Straight away I told him it’s dodgy and rang up my bank myself. Bank said they didn’t make the call at all. The bloke sounded pretty believable tho.
