Got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC, but the voice was obviously American which seemed odd since HMRC doesn’t use those kind of automated calls with US accents. They claimed I owed money and said a letter was on the way. The weird part was, they didn’t even know my name or where I live, and never once asked for any details to confirm who I was. The person on the line had quite a thick Indian accent too, which didn’t sound right for HMRC at all.
